No, much better than hide glue. Hot sauce. I had two kinds, Green Chili with Jalapeno Mild Sauce, and the other was Hinges of Hell Jalapeno Hot Sauce.
It was kind of funny, in that looking around for containers, Baby Bottles were the least expensive way to share the hot sauce. I did nip the ends of the nipples off.
Both types were made of pepper mash with salt as preservative and pickling agent. About week two it was bubbling and fermenting, then settled down to a great tasting sauce. A little vinegar was added to float the mash in suspension for use. I think I'll add a little corn starch next time to thicken the concoction.
I haven't heard if anyone liked it yet....
We have a local company that makes killer hot sauce from red peppers and habaneros, it's about as hot as I can stand it, but it's oh so good.
